  • Dr. Mohan recently performed a back surgery on me. I have been disabled for about 12 years. I went to numerous Dr.'s. They all played the slow roll injection and physical therapy game. First time I met Dr Mohan his first suggestion was surgery. Thats when I knew I was in the right place. Dr Mohan did not disappoint. Surgery went better than expected for me. I am 3 weeks removed and more than half way in my weening off Pain Meds process. His bedside manner, confidence and willingness to spend as much time needed to explain procedures and expectations he had for me. Gave me the confidence to want to listen and push myself to start to live again. Thats what Dr. Mohan did for me. He gave me my life back. I will forever be grateful.

  • So my story is kind of long I have Dealt with back and neck issues for about the last 20. years I’ve had 9 major spine surgeries. And 60 procedures to deal with pain. I have a 4 level fusion in my lower back and a 3 level fusion in my neck . In 2014 I had my first neck surgery things seem to be pretty good for about the first six months and then started go from bad to worse. I went back to the surgeon he said there was nothing he could do for me .Over the next six years I’ve visited four separate surgeons all telling me there was nothing they could do to help me . One suggested possibly fuse my entire cervical spine . That would leave me with no mobility. During this time I went for pain procedure after pain procedure. My wife was on me to go to the Mayo clinic so I went through the process of registering and sending Mayo 4700 pieces of medical records. Yeah you guessed it ! Mayo Sent me a letter they couldn’t help me . My pain doctor suggested that I see Dr. Mohan. He received a copy of my CT scan before my appointment. While waiting in the office for him to come in. Now you have to understand my state of mind I’m already feeling that he’s gonna tell me there’s nothing you can do for me. He walks in and tells me he knows exactly what’s wrong with me and how to fix it under my breath I cursed and say to myself there’s no way he brings up the CT scan and says here look The fusion you had in 2014 never healed and the plate that they put into sturdy it while the bone healed his broken. Mind you I’ve been to six other doctors and no one seen this. Dr. Mohan suggested a less invasive surgical procedure. DTRAX posterior Fusion. So the wind up is I am four weeks out of surgery and my pain level has significantly decrease . As far as for the review of Dr. Mohan he is absolutely outstanding.

  • Dr Mohan has been amazing. My initial reason for seeing him was a work injury in 2014 at DMG. Had surgery 2015 (had to wait for workman’s comp to approve) Recovery was difficult but I made it through my daughters wedding 3 months later. (After a bunch of PT) Fast forward to January 2019... I thought I had sciatica. Went to chiropractor several times and had some relief. Then in May/June everything went down hill, I could barely stand, walking was so painful and couldn’t sleep due to the pain. I saw my rheumatologist end of May thinking maybe it was my arthritis getting worse. My rheumatologist said I needed to see Dr Mohan again as he felt it was my back again and was definitely not my arthritis. I called to make an appointment at DuPage Medical only to find out he had left the practice. They kept trying to get me to make an appointment with them and I point blank said no thank you I will find Dr Mohan. His compassion for his patients was worth the hour drive from my home. Thank you google for helping me find him😉 Dr Mohan’s staff were awesome in getting me a quick appointment. Once I saw him he quickly ordered MRI and X-ray. What I had hoped to be a quick fix wasn’t so... I needed to have surgery again as L5-S1 was failing (previous surgery was at L3/4-4/5) I actually couldn’t wait I have surgery to make the pain go away. Once again his staff to the rescue as I was having problems with my insurance approval. They guided me on what to say and helped me get approval as my insurance was dragging their feet in giving me approval. I was in the hospital one day, no pain in my leg whatsoever after surgery & off pain meds within the first week! There isn’t enough good things I can say about Dr Mohan and his staff. Thank you so much helping me through another difficult time.

  • If you're considering surgery, you must see Dr. Mohan. He actually takes the time to meet with his patients and together determines the next best step of care. He is not a "pushy" surgeon, if you don't need surgery he'll be honest and let you know all of your options. His office staff has been amazing and very responsive. I'm glad I was referred to him!

  • I had been battling lower back and leg pains for over a year. I needed a L4-L5 and L5-S1 Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion. Dr. Mohan has been blessed with gifted hands! Aside from minor pain around the incision site I felt like a new person after surgery and was walking the hospital halls in less than 24 hrs! Dr. Mohan's tremendous surgical skills are complimented by his compassion for his patients. I cannot overemphasize the level of trust, appreciation and respect I have for Dr. Mohan.

  • Dr. Mohan is a gifted Surgeon. He has great bedside manner. Professional but compassionate. I tracked him down on internet when I found he left DuPage Medical. I knew I had to have back surgery and he is the one I trust. In addition, after many testing he diagnosed the unbearable pain on right side of body was sacroiliac joint. He did an SI joint fusion and I am now in rehab getting well. I just admire, trust and love Dr. Mohan

  • Having had chronic back and leg pain for years I went to many doctor's for help. They did surgeries, xrays, MRI's etc to try and help my problem but nothing really worked. My pain kept getting worse until my pain doctor suggested I contact Dr Mohan who he said was a young and very excellant spinal surgeon. Of coarse I had my doubts after years of pain that never went away but I thought I'd try again. After calling his office I was able to get a quick appointment to see him. I went to see him then with what ever I had in xrays etc for Dr Mohan to look at. At that visit Dr Mohan confirmed what my pain Dr thought that the problem was in the SI joint's on the left and right side with the right side being the worst. He said point blank "I can fix it and also get you off those pain killer's". Of coarse I was really surprised but he explained the procedure and that by putting 3 rod's into my SI joint , it would stop the movement thus the pain also. I had the surgery on the right side done on September 12th, 2019 along with 2 weeks rehab and my level of pain has dropped beyond my belief , Although I'am still recovering we expect my way of life to change thanks to Dr Mohan. I know I won't be pain free at my age of 72 but I hope to get back to some of the things I have missed. THANK YOU Dr Mohan for helping me .

  • I was so lucky to find Dr. Mohan. I had spinal fusion surgery. He is the most considerate, and sympathetic Dr. I have ever met. I have called him on weekends, middle of the night, times when he has been with his family, and he has always answered my calls. He never acts like you are bothering him.
Dr. Mohan is my go to Dr.

  • I drove almost an hour to take my son to his appointment at Dr. Mohan’s office and we really liked it. Clean, spacious, efficient and a nice view from our window. Staff was very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Dr. Mohan is a great doctor. He treated my other son who had a wonderful outcome and he was able to play hockey again. I would highly recommend Dr. Vivek Mohan!

  • Dr. MOHAN is awesome. He knew from my first visit what my problems were and he hadn't even looked at a Xray nor a MRI. I must agree that has been gifted with magical hands.

  • My doctor referred me to specialists pain doctors etc. (6weeks in all while I was in pain from 3 to 8 daily. Finally I met Dr. Vivek Mohan he had two ways to proceed, epidural wait and see what happens, or surgery 4 - 6 weeks back to work. I was hesitant for the surgery? but I realized I finally have a clear-cut answer. I had surgery, that night I was up and walking around. next day felt better, third day NO more pain. Thanks to Dr. Mohan and has staff they have been so nice and caring. Sincerely Greg Niemann
